BRIGHT IS RIGHT FOR 2013

Just like OCC line of bright lipglosses...here is KA'OIR colored lipsticks! pretty fun!!

Keyshia Dior is the founder of Ka'Oir Cosmetics! She's a well known Model, Make up artist slash Socialite, who used her name & fame to launch her own cosmetic line! She put her money where how mouth is literally! lol! Her Brand features everything from lip gloss to nail polish. Her lipstick range really sticks out to me, cos she features some never seen before colours.

She teamed up with Rapper & Friend Trina, to produce a customized Trina lipstick!

I believe there's a time and place for each colour tho lol! You might not be into the boldest colours, but there's bound to be a colour you like!

Dare to wear it! Her Lipsticks are Matte/Satin so you get the gloss without lipgloss.

CURLS VOUS AVEZ DIT CURLS!!!

J'adore a nouvelle tendance!! Soul sister but funky and edgy!!! 2013??? new hair??

MAKEUP AND BEAUTY TIPS...

1.  Clump-Free Lashes -  Whenever you apply mascara, make sure you wipe off any excess product on a tissue.  Most mascara brushes will pick up a lot of extra product that will cake up on your lashes, causing them to stick together and clump.  Wiggle the wand at the base of your lashes first, and then sweep upwards to get maximum volume and definition without using extra coats!

2.  Matte Nail Polish -  Corn starch is a secret ingredient for painters of all kinds.  Pour a bit of your nail polish color of choice onto a piece of wax paper or foil, and add just a pinch of corn starch to the paint.  Mix with a toothpick and apply to your nails how you normally would!  The finish will be flat and shine-free, very trendy, and you won’t have to buy an extra top coat or special polish.

3.  Full Lips -  If you aren’t a gloss girl, chances are “lip plumpers” aren’t your thing.  However you’ll still be able to create the illusion of plump lips.  Simply apply a little bit of shimmery cream colored eyeshadow to the center of your lips.  This will catch the light and make them appear more full.  Also apply the eyeshadow to your cupids bow for extra pop!

4.  Less-visible Pimples -  Nothings worse than waking up on an important day and seeing a zit that’s big, red and ugly on your skin.  First, soak a washcloth in hot water and apply this as a compress to the spot for ten minutes.  Reheat/wet the washcloth every few minutes to keep it hot.  Apply a spot treatment with benzoyl peroxide.  Then put an ice cube in a plastic bag and apply as a compress for a few more minutes.  The steam will open up and clear the pores, allowing for the spot treatment to work more effectively, and the ice will reduce the swelling and redness.  For extra red spots, apply a bit of Visine to the spot with a Q-Tip.

5.  Lighten Under-Eye Circles - Brew a couple tea bags before you go to bed and keep the bags in the fridge overnight.  In the morning, place the chilled tea bags over your eyes for about ten minutes.  The cold will reduce the swelling and darkness, while the caffeine brightens and tightens the skin, making you look instantly more awake.

6.  Long-Lasting Lipstick - For lipstick that lasts for hours without fading,  apply one layer and pat away any excess with a tissue.  Then, apply a second layer, and do the same.  Dust some translucent powder onto your lips for an attractive matte finish and extra wear time!

7.  Glowing Skin - For a naturally radiant complexion, pop a bit of your moisturizer or vaseline onto your cheeks with your fingers over top of your blush.  You only need a small amount.  For best results, mix the moisturizer in with a bit of your blush.

8.  Smudge-Proof Brows - If you fill in your brows, no matter what you use, you probably have experienced some embarrassing smudging throughout the day at some point.  To fix this, seal your brows with a quick swipe of clear mascara!  It doesn’t have to be an expensive mascara… it will work all the same.

9.  Stay-In-Place Eyeliner -  One of the most popular questions I get on DrugstorePrincess is “how can I keep my eyeliner from smudging?”  If you’re using a pencil liner, run the tip of the liner through a flame for a second to melt it a bit.  They will apply more pigmented and smoothly, even to the water line.  For gel or liquid, set your liner with a matching powder eyeshadow and an angled or pencil brush.

10.  Softer Lips - Make your lips feel smooth and help your lipstick go on nicer by using brown sugar as a lip exfoliant.  Mix the sugar with honey or vaseline and store in a jar.  It tastes sweet and is very inexpensive!

11.  Shinier, Smoother Hair - Before you hop out of the shower, rinse your hair with cold water.  This will seal the follicle and keep the shaft from expanding and creating frizz.  Once you’re done styling, use a tiny drop of conditioner and work this into the ends of your hair (just the ends!) with your fingers to keep your hair looking smooth all day.

12.  More Effective Moisturizer - If you have extremely dry skin (it happens to a lot of us, especially in the winter), and your current moisturizer doesn’t seem to be doing the trick, you don’t need to spend a ton of money on a new version.  Immediately after you wash your face (preferably with warm water), apply your moisturizer to your face while the skin is still wet.  Really massage this into your skin to boost blood flow and create a glowing complexion.

13.  Mistake-Proof Eyeshadow -  Going for a dramatic eyeshadow look?  Get your lines perfectly straight and even by using a bit of scotch tape as a guide!  Stick the tape to the back of your hand first to remove any excess stickiness, and then apply to your eye at whatever angle you choose.  This also gives you perfect winged eyeliner as well!

14.  Pain-Free Waxing & Plucking - Hair removal can be very painful, whether it’s on your face or other areas of your body.  If you don’t have any numbing cream handy, try popping 200 milligrams of Ibuprofen fifteen minutes before you pluck or wax.  Also, apply a warm, wet washcloth to the skin for five minutes to open the pores.  Apply a cold compress afterwards to get rid of redness quickly!

15.  Soften Rough Skin - Flip flop season wreaks havoc on your feet, and winter’s dry air can make your knees and elbows look dull and dry.  Fix this by exfoliating with baking soda - it removes your dead skin without irritating, and it brightens your skin as well.  Exfoliating regularly with baking soda can reduce hyper-pigmentation in the skin as well.

TIPS: to help thin it out, add a bit of water based mixing medium (MAC) and a clear, silicone based face primer, any clear silicone primer would work, and mixed them in with the gel liner. it will make the liner super creamy again.

MAKE YOUR EYES POP...

What color eye shadow should you use to make your eye color POP?
Green eyes:  Best colors for green eyes are pink, rose, plum and mauve colors.  These colors can really make the green in your eye look brighter.  To make your green eyes pop try using Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion in Pink Punch or Almay Intense i-Color Satin - Green Eye.

Blue eyes:  Brown, bronze or copper colors are best for blue eyes. Warm hues help to contrast the coldness in blue eyes making them really stand out. To make your blue eyes pop try using Cover Girl Queen Collection Eye Shadow Set - Desert Bronze or Almay Intense i-Color Smoky-i Eyeshadow - Blue Eyes.

Brown eyes:

If you have brown eyes try gold, burnt orange, blue or purple shadows.  Brown eyes are very versatile because they are neutral and go with a lot of colors.  To make your brown eyes pop try Maybelline Eye Studio Wet Eye Shadow Quads - Legendary Lilac  or Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion in Amethyst Ablazed.

Hazel eyes:  If you have hazel eyes you can really play around with a lot of color because you’ll have a mix of green, brown, and gray in your eyes.  You can really make the colors stand out by using light pink, golden brown, and a mixture of green shades.  Try using these products to make your eye color stand out.  Almay Intense i-Shimmer, Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips, and Maybelline Eye Studio Quad in Purple.

LONG LASTING LIPSTICK... 14 HOURS!

Do you guys know the Hourglass brand?  I remember when the palettes first came out at Sephora years ago - I just knew there was something different about their products, a quiet kind of luxury with a cult-ish edge.

Hourglass has just launched this amazing Opaque Rouge lip product.  It paints on like a gloss, but dries to a matte finish that lasts up to 14 hours. It’s very intense without the terrible feeling of those old longwear lipstains, and also without the bleed of a lipstick.
My favorite colors are Muse, Canvas and Icon (amazing true red).  My only hint would be to apply lip balm and let it sink in while you’re doing your makeup, then paint this on …always hydrate first.
Full coverage liquid lipstick with a “velvet matte” finish. Just love it!!

BEYOND MASCARA!!

Le Mascara que j'aime en ce moment...pour des cils longs et epais!!!

Mascara is an absolute handbag essential for me. Make sure you replace your mascara at least every three months). Benefit’s latest offering, They’re Reallimited-edition Anniversary set. This includes a full-size mascara and a FREE travel size they’re real. The set (worth £27) will be sold for only £18.50. In other words, for the price of a full-size they’re real! you’ll also have a FREE travel size one too!

What’s the difference in a rubber mascara wand and what does it do?
image
The wand is designed for lengthening, curling, separating and volumising, and has a spiked application rubber wand with a teeny tiny little spiked ball on the end. It creates length, and a sort of spiky effect which I love when using these type of mascara wands.
Rubber bristles like They’re Real Benefit’s mascara is designed to combine the qualities expressed by both long and short bristles. The bristles coats even the tiniest lashes, which add volume, but are also strong enough to coat lashes from root to tip, which adds length. The sturdiness of the rubber bristles also mimics the effects of a comb and separates the lashes.

Adieu les anciens mascara....hello la nouvelle brosse en caoutchouc!!!

CRAZY NAILS

5 MANICURES TO TRY CAVIAR, VELVET, MAGNETIC, AND MORE

Over the past couple of years nail art culture has really taken off. Fashion Bomb faves BeyoncĂ©, Rihanna, and Eva Marcille are always mindful of their manis, and me? I’m no different. I’m obsessed with my nails! I use them as a way to make a subtle statement (the beauty is in the details). I’m always on the prowl for the latest in nail design–here are a few looks I uncovered that I think you’ll love:

1. The Caviar:

UK based brand CIATE introduced the Caviar manicure less than a year ago, and it has since taken off! The look offers a feminine and elegant 3-D effect that’s achieved with microbeads. A name like “Caviar”  just oozes opulence, no? This is next on my list to try.  You can purchase the kit for $25 at Sephora, or attempt a DIY with instructions.

2. The Velvet:

Feeling fancy? Give this mani a whirl. CIATE carries on the couture nail game with its latest creation, the Velvet manicure. It promises to bring “decadent luxury to your fingertips”. The kit comes with crushed velvet, and is available with an array of colors that includes Berry Poncho (dark purple), Blue Suede, and Mink Cashmere. Just like the Caviar, this set can also be purchased at Sephora for $19. Rita Ora seems to have already taken a liking to the trend. Peep her velvet nails below.

3. The Magnetic:

I’ll admit: when I first heard about this I was confused. Magnetic? How? Sally Hansen recently launched their take on the nail trend with colors like Golden Conduct, Electric Emerald, Graphite Gravity, and more. The polish is infused with magnetic particles that form a design when exposed to the specially designed magnet. Interesting.

4. The Galaxy:

Fans of astronomy far and wide will be excited to know that this intergalactic mani now exists. Truth be told, this cute design works great on anyone willing to give it a shot. It doesn’t come in a kit, instead achieved manually.

5. The Tribal Print:

This is a nail design that seemed to be influenced by the tribal print clothing trend. They can be found in a variety of patterns. You can purchase nail wraps from Asos to get the look. But of course I have a DIY option.

I’ve already tried the tribal, now I’m on to conquer the rest. What do you think? Will you be trying any of these manicures?
